LOUISVILLE, KY. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis women’s soccer team battled No. 24 ranked Bellarmine to a scoreless game for more than 102 minutes before the host Knights secured a win in double overtime Friday afternoon in Great Lakes Valley Conference action.
Bellarmine’s Lauren Triplett drilled the ball from 20 yards out into the upper left of the goal at the 102:36 mark to give the Knights the win.
The Tritons slip to 4-10-1 on the season, including 4-8-1 in the GLVC, while Bellarmine improves to 12-2 overall and 10-2 in the league.
UMSL was out-shot 19-5 and played nearly 73 minutes before sophomore Jesa Jenkins put the first shot on the board for the Tritons. Senior Caitlin Farrow took a team-high three shots, landing two on target. Bellarmine placed five shots on target.
Senior keeper Amy Boehm played all 102:36 minutes in goal, recording four saves.
UMSL travels to No. 12 ranked Northern Kentucky on Sunday for the final GLVC game of the season. Go Back
