March 22, 2008ST. LOUIS, MO. - The University of Missouri-St. Louis women's tennis team lost a 5-4 decision to visiting Saint Joseph's Saturday morning in Great Lakes Valley Conference action. The Tritons fall to 4-4 overall, including 1-1 in the league.
The Tritons opened the match by taking two of three doubles points, including an 8-3 victory at No. 1 by Stephanie Thompson and Andriana Garcia. Molly Striler and Yuki Takashima also picked up an 8-1 win at No. 3.
Thompson claimed a 6-4, 6-4 victory at No. 1 singles, while Annie Gonzalez was a 6-4, 7-5 winner at No. 6. However, SJC won singles matches at Nos. 2-5 to pick up the match win.
UMSL returns to action Friday at Bellarmine.
