Cissell Helps Women's Golf to Third Place at Gateway Championshi

RESULTS

MADISON, ILL. – Junior Sarah Cissell finished tied for fifth as the University of Missouri-St. Louis women’s golf team finished third overall at the Gateway Collegiate Championships, hosted by the Tritons at Gateway National Golf Links this weekend.

Cissell fired two rounds of 83 for a final score of 166, helping UMSL to rounds of 336 and 338 for a 674 final score. SIU Edwardsville won the team title, shooting 334 and 318 for a total of 652.

Freshman Ashley Stout finished one stroke behind Cissell, finishing in eighth place with rounds of 88 and 79 for a 167. Senior Shannon Vallowe finished 10th (78-93 171), while senior Erin Konkol tied for 13th (92-84 176) and sophomore Leslie Fischer tied for 15th (87-92 179).

UMSL will be back in action April 11-12 when it competes in the McKendree Spring Invitational at Cardinal Creek Golf Course in Scott Air Force, Illinois.
