May 22, 2008ST. LOUIS, MO. – Sophomore Andreas Dimke of the University of Missouri-St. Louis men’s tennis team has been selected to the 2008 ESPN The Magazine College Division All-District VII men's at-large team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Dimke, a business administration major, posted a 16-5 mark at No. 1 singles this year, including a 9-2 record in Great Lakes Valley Conference action. In doubles action, he went 17-6 at the No. 1 position, including an 8-2 mark in league play. Dimke was also ranked No. 9 in the ITA Great Lakes region in singles and No. 7 in doubles.
Dimke, a two-time all-GLVC honoree, helped UMSL to a second place regular season finish in the GLVC and a berth in the NCAA Tournament. The Tritons finished with a 15-7 record.
To be eligible for nomination to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Team, nominees must own a cumulative grade point average of 3.2 or better. Dimke is now eligible for selection to the Academic All-America Team.
