April 18, 2008ST. CHARLES, MO. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis men’s tennis team defeated Rockhurst, 5-4, Friday afternoon in Great Lakes Valley Conference action at the West James Tennis Club to remain atop the league standings with Drury.
It was the 11th straight win for the Tritons, who improve to 14-4 on the season, including 9-0 in the GLVC.
Picking up wins for UMSL in doubles were Andreas Dimke and Boris Simic at No. 1, 8-6, and Ryan Burgdorfer and Daniel Anthony at No. 2, 9-8.
Dimke then won at No. 1 singles, 6-1, 6-2, while Anthony picked up a 7-6, 7-6 win at No. 3. Andre Chemas clinched the win for UMSL with a 4-6, 6-2, 6-1 victory at No. 5.
UMSL hosts co-league leader Drury tomorrow morning at 10 a.m. in the regular season finale at the UMSL Tennis Courts.
