August 25, 2007Nyack, NY– UMSL's Colin Huber scored the game winning goal in overtime to give the men's soccer team a 1-0 win in the season opener.
The Tritons are opening the season with two games in the state of New York this weekend, beginning with today's game at Nyack College. Neither team could find the net in the opening 90 minutes of regulation. The two teams were fairly even on shots during regulation, with UMSL recording 11 shots and Nyack recording 10. The Tritons had 12 corner kicks to Nyack's three and UMSL had the only shot in overtime as Huber found the net in the 105th minute for the game winning goal. Goalkeeper Mike Bober recorded three saves while registering a shutout in his first career start for UMSL.
UMSL is 1-0 on the season and will continue their season opening trip to New York when they play at Concordia (NY) on Monday afternoon. Return To Articles
