October 14, 2008CHESTERFIELD, MO. – Sophomore Tim Cochran of the University of Missouri-St. Louis men’s golf team tied for second place in its Tritons Invitational Monday and Tuesday at The Landings Golf Course.
Cochran fired equal rounds of 71 for a final score of 142 on the 72-par, 6,788-yard course. UMSL shot rounds of 294 and 298 en route to a total score of 592 and a fifth place finish.
Wisconsin-Parkside won the team title on a playoff with a score of 578. Bellarmine also shot a 578.
Also for the Tritons, sophomore Ryan Gunn tied for 11th place with a 72-73 145, while senior Matt Winslow tied for 16th (75-74 149). Sophomore Ryan Penfield (76-81 157) and senior J.R. Siracusa (77-80 157) tied for 37th.
Non-counting results for UMSL included junior Tim Swoboda (77-75 152, tie for 23rd), junior Ryan Higgins (79-79 158, 40th), senior Padraic Kerr (81-90 171, 44th) and senior Luigi Wewege (87-86 173, 45th).
