Thomas, Rau Competing at Missouri Amateur Championships

O’FALLON, MO. – Two members of the University of Missouri-St. Louis men’s golf team are finding success on the course during the off-season.

Senior Matt Thomas along with incoming first year golfer Matt Rau are competing in the 2008 Missouri Amateur Championship this week at Winghaven Country Club in O’Fallon, Mo.

Both have qualified for match play, which begins today. Thomas will face defending champion Connon McHenry, while Rau will face last year’s runner-up Mitchell Gregson.

Thomas fired opening round scores of 78 and 71 on the par 72, 6,875-yard course, while Rau shot rounds of 75 and 79.
