April 14, 2008COLUMBUS, IND. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis men’s golf team slipped from fifth place into a tie for eighth place with SIUE Edwardsville after day two of the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championships, held at the Otter Creek Golf Course in Columbus, Indiana.
The Tritons shot a 308 today and combined with yesterday’s round of 304, have a total of 612. Indianapolis remains in the lead with a 580 total - four strokes over par.
Junior Matt Thomas remains in medalist contention with a one over par 145 score. Thomas shot a 73 today and is two strokes behind Drury’s Thomas Hay who leads the pack with a 143.
Junior Matt Winslow shot a 74 on the second day of competition to move his total score to 150 and is tied for 12th. Sophomore Tim Swoboda (78-80 158) is tied for 50th, while freshman Tim Cochran (78-81 158) is tied for 50th and freshman Ryan Penfield (78-88 166) is in 60th place.
Final round will tee off at 9 a.m. tomorrow morning.
