Jones Signs Higgins to Volleyball National Letter of Intent

ST. LOUIS, MO. – University of Missouri-St. Louis first-year head volleyball coach Trent Jones has announced the signing of Erin Higgins to a national letter of intent to join the Tritons program beginning with the 2008-09 academic year.

Higgins earned second team Iowa Girls Coaches Association (IGCA) Class 4A all-state honors as a senior at Pleasant Valley (Iowa) High School after recording 342 kills, 101 service aces, 70 digs and 78 blocks. She also earned first team all-Mississippi Athletic Conference (MAC) honors and was named the 2007 MAC Player of the Year. Higgins was also selected to the IGCA Southwest Region all-district team and named a senior all-star by the IGCA.

“We are very excited to have Erin join our program,” said Jones. “She is an athletic and versatile volleyball player. She has unlimited potential and her best days of volleyball are still ahead of her.”

Higgins plays club volleyball for Platform Elite and in 2007 was a member of the USAV HP Iowa Region Camp and Women's Junior National Team.
