She would score the game winning goal against Harvard in the Elite Eight matchup and send UMSL to the NCAA Final Four where the team lost to eventual national champion North Carolina. Joan becomes part of the first family connection in the UMSL Sports Hall of Fame, joining her sister, Jan, who was inducted in the inaugural class in 2001.
